What I actually do: Write code, plan upcoming features with the Product Owner, help other team members.

How I got here: In my early 20s, while studying computer sciences at the University of Helsinki, I applied for a job at McDonald’s. I didn’t get it, because I had long hair. Instead I got a job at a software company where I ended up spending 20 years in a variety of different roles. But 20 years is a long time, and eventually I decided I wanted to see the color of the grass on the other side of the fence, so to speak. So the timing was perfect when Refined contacted me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.

What I like about working at Refined: I really appreciate the balance between developing new features and doing improvements like modernizing the code base and building up test and deployment automation.

Favorite task of the day: Issuing a product release.

When I’m not at Refined you’ll find me: Going to concerts and festivals, and planning my next hiking trip.

I’d describe my team as: Motivated, self-organized, and diverse.
